Vanity Fair stated that Tolman "calmly and assuredly stole" the show. Tolman won an Critics' Choice Television Award for her performance in the category Best Supporting Actress in the category of Films/Miniseries. Also, her nominations for Best Actress were received at the Emmy Awards as well as the Golden Globes.
